Reporting Content

When should content be reported?

Answer:

The following are the principal reasons why content should be reported or "flagged":

• There is missing, incorrect, inconsistent information: lacks contact information; dates, names, or titles are unclear; the description is incomplete; content is illogical or illegible; more than one city, state, and/or country is listed in the location field; the listed location does not match that of the opportunity, etc.
• It´s in the wrong category: the content belongs in a different database (for example, an internship or volunteer opportunity is listed in the job openings database) or is written in a language other than English.
• It´s a duplicate listing: identical content is found more than once in the same database/category.
• There are multiple opportunities within a listing: detailed information about more than one opportunity is found within the same listing (all opportunities with differing qualifications and responsibilities should be listed separately).
• It violates Idealist Terms and Conditions: content does not comply with our stated terms and conditions, principles, mission, and/or values.
• Other: for example, content is spam, illegitimate, illegal, vulgar, etc.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of the reporting system is to allow you to notify us about problematic content. Therefore, you should not report or "flag" content that you support or like.

If you see a problem with your own content and need help to acess or update it, we recommend that you get in touch with the Idealist staff directly via the Contact Us section of our site. We advise against reporting your own content.
